Mäkelänkangas Solar Park with Ballast-Based Ground Mounting
In 2016, Finnwind Oy and Etelä-Savon Energia delivered a 720 kWp ground-mounted solar power plant to Suomen Voima in Hamina.
The Hamina solar power plant was connected to the wind power plant’s production network, and the electricity generated is fed into the general grid through this network to be sold to the electricity customers of Suomen Voima Oy’s shareholder companies.
The solar park was installed using a ballast foundation, with decommissioned concrete railway sleepers from VR used as weights, which would otherwise have been waste.
